LISTEN: Morning Teleportation’s shapeshifting single ‘Calm Is Intention Devouring Its Frailty’

Later this month, six years after debuting psychedelic rock masterpiece “Expanding Anyway,” a decade after commanding the attention of Modest Mouse’s Issac Brock and twelve years since forming as teenagers at Greenwood High in Bowling Green, Ky. —Morning Teleportation will unveil record “Salivating For Symbiosis”.

The first singles from the forthcoming release, “The Code” and “Calm is Intention Devouring Its Frailty,” conjure the gleeful madness and idiosyncratic spirit that Morning Teleportation crafted on “Expanding Anyway.” The first samplings of “Salivating For Symbiosis” ooze with savant-like creative genius, as tranquil indie pop melts harmoniously into bursts of glitchy piano and sinister, warped walls of sound.

Stereogum debuted “Calm” yesterday, as the record’s April 28 release on Glacial Pace Recordings looms later this month.
